Inter School Volleyball Tournament (Boys) 2023 – 24

An Inter School Volleyball Tournament (Boys) was held on Friday, 12 May 2023 in GRD WORLD SCHOOL, Bhauwala, Dehradun. The Tournament was open for the students of class 8th to 12th. Twenty-one schools participated in the tournament. All the teams from different Schools played matches on a knock-out basis.

All the Twenty-one teams were led by their respective captains. The captain of the host school, i.e, GRD WORLD SCHOOL, Bhauwala was Atulya Negi (XI COM.).

The Tournament started with full enthusiasm and the opening match was played between UCASS(B) and DR school in court 1, which was won by UCASS(B). Simultaneously, match 2 was held between SNM Public School and The Sapience School in court 2, which was won by The Sapience School.

The tournament kept going ahead smoothly and all the teams showcased their skills and team work.

This being a sports tournament so some teams win and some teams lose. This way the tournament reached its semi final stage, where first semi final was played between Defence public school and Baluni public school in court 2 which was won by Baluni public school (21-11, 12-21 & 04-15). Second semi final was held between Cambridge school and Anunaad Public school in court 1 which was won by Cambridge School (21-16, 18-21 & 15-06)

The Tournament witnessed intense matches, great efforts and playing spirit among the players of the different schools, with Baluni public school and Cambridge school reaching the Finals.

In the finals, it was Cambridge School which won by 21-12 & 21-19. Cambridge school performed outstanding and became the winner of the tournament after showcasing their excellent teamwork, coordination and playing skills. The runner up team was Baluni public school and Anunaad Public school was at the 3rd place after defeating Defence public school in best of three match.

We are proud of all the teams that participated and demonstrated great sportsman spirit throughout the Tournament.

The tournament was a platform for all the players to showcase their skills and learn for the future achievements. The tournament was a great success as passion for volleyball could be seen in the participants as well as the crowd.

The chief guest for the event were the respected members of the school management, Mrs. Surjeet Kaur Oberoi, Sardar Inderjit Singh, Vice chairman, GRD IMT Rajpur Road and Mr. Navinder Singh Oberoi and the Principal of the school Mr. Deepak Saraswat.
